This Tuesday, Mark Zuckerberg has announced the launch of a new shopping feature on Facebook called Facebook Shops.
The feature will serve as help for businesses to sell their products online, given the current situation with the coronavirus pandemic. It will allow for direct selling to customers on Facebook, as well as on Instagram. The cool thing about Shops is that the businesses can create own virtual “storefronts” with customizable images and colors they can feature on their profile page or in Stories and ads.
The feature will also be supported across Facebook and Instagram Live for real-time purchases. Facebook Shops does not include fees for participating retailers of any size, which is a model similar to the existing Facebook Marketplace that surfaces local classified ads.
